JAZZ ARTIST DOUG WAMBLE APPEARS AT MESA ARTS CENTER

October 4, 2005 (Mesa, Arizona) Mesa Arts Center presents jazz artist Doug Wamble for four cabaret-style performances, Friday, October 14 and Saturday, October 15, 2005 at 8:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. each evening. The concerts are part of the Performing Live series at Mesa Arts Center and will be held in the Farnsworth Studio Theater which will be transformed into the SMesa Jazz Lounge.⬝ The SMesa Jazz Lounge⬝ will offer beverage service one hour prior to the first performance, and will stay open one hour after the second performance, giving audiences the opportunity to experience an intimate cabaret-style event. In addition Doug Wamble will hold a guitar workshop in the Farnsworth Studio Theater at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 15.
Hot off a successful run opening for Harry Connick Jr."s national tour, Doug Wamble brings his trademark guitar style and vocals to the Farnsworth Studio Theater for an intimate cabaret event. His distinctive style echoes the jazz giants Louis Armstrong, Hank Williams, Robert Johnson, and Ornette Coleman. The 30-year-old guitarist, vocalist, and composer draws inspiration from an uncommonly broad musical pool. His latest album Blue State was hailed as S⬦one of the unexpectedly enjoyable releases yet this year⬦⬝ by Jazz Review.com. This Tennessee native offers music that is true to his roots in blues and gospel, his love of jazz and popular song, and his commitment to both reflect his diverse sources, and turn them in new directions.
Tickets to Doug Wamble are available only at the Mesa Arts Center Box Office located at 1 E. Main Street in downtown Mesa. Tickets are available by phone at 480-644-6500 or walk-up during Box Office hours. Tickets can be purchased 24 hours a day on-line at www.mesaartscenter.com. Box Office hours are Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., and two hours prior to performances.
