down on my luck
"i'm short of money,i'm down on my luck,....
i'm trying to make a living,i'm trying to
make a buck.
don't have any prospects or a place to go,...
my chances of finding a job is mighty low.
nothing in this crazy mixed up life of mine,
seems to go right,...i'm short of money,...
and my budget is tight.
i lost all my money on ponies who start out
slow,...and cross the finish line limp and
lame i lose every bet no matter the game.
inever seem to know how to hold or fold my card,...
again,i lose all my bets and never beat the odds.
should i sing or humm a song the melody is flat
and out of tune.the lyrics all wrong and out of sync,...
as i sit here and wonder if lady luck will ever
give me a wink???
the pieces of this giant jig saw puzzle i call my
life never seem to form a perfect fit,.... as do
the broken parts,bits and pieces in my wooden
airplane kit.
when i work on a crossword puzzle the boxes always
remain empty and blank,...just like my checkbook
balance at the local bank.
so,please excuse me if i should sound bitter
and a bit of a crank,... just this morning
when i tried to start my car,there was no fuel
in the gasoline tank."
