Phoenix Girls Chorus Sets Final Summer Audition for 2005-06 Season

Phoenix Girls Chorus will hold its final summer audition for the 2005-2006 season, Saturday, August 27, 2005, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Chorus spots are still available for girls ages 7 to 11 with vocal ability and a desire to advance their vocal and choral performance skills with the Valley�"s premier choral performing group for young women.

Auditions are by appointment only; appointments can be scheduled through the Phoenix Girls Chorus office at (602) 252-5562. All auditions are held at the offices of Phoenix Girls Chorus, 828 North Third Street, Phoenix, AZ.

A $10 audition fee is payable at the time of the audition. Interested girls should prepare a song and bring the sheet music to the audition. Folk, spiritual, classical, Broadway, Disney, or even a simple nursery song such as �STwinkle, Twinkle Little Star⬝ are permitted. No �Spop⬝ music, please.

In addition to numerous performances throughout the year, Phoenix Girls Chorus offers one the best music education programs available. Weekly evening rehearsals begin in late August, providing members with an exciting and motivating extracurricular activity.

The 200-member Phoenix Girls Chorus was founded in 1981 and is under the artistic direction of Sue Kenly Marshall. Choirs have toured nationally to Boston, Chicago, San Francisco, Seattle, Vermont, and Washington, D. C., and internationally to Canada, the Czech Republic, England, Germany, Italy, Mexico, and Scotland. This summer the Tour Choir performed throughout historic Pennsylvania area, and the Cantabile Choir toured Wales and southern England. Southwest Singers performed at Disneyland.
