February 23, 2005 -- B. Eric Rhoads, Chairman of Streamline Publishing, Inc., has announced the appointment of a new editor for its national art publication, Plein Air Magazine. King comes to Plein Air with nine years" experience as an editor of art magazines and books, and more than 20 years" experience in the publishing industry. She has had the privilege of interviewing, writing articles and editing books about many of the finest living artists in the US, and she has extensive knowledge of historical artists due to her experience as a lecturer on art history and art appreciation for the University of Cincinnati. King most recently held the position of US Editor for International Artist Magazine, and was also a Senior Editor at The Artist"s Magazine. She is the editor of several respected art books, including A Proven Strategy for Creating Great Art, with Dan McCaw, Ramon Kelley: A Portrait of the Artist, with Ramon Kelley and Expressing the Visual Language of the Landscape, with multiple contributors. According to Rhoads, "Jennifer is well known throughout the world as an expert in the field of art. We think she will be a great addition to our publication."
Plein Air Magazine is published monthly since July 2004, and has already established itself as the premier traditional fine art magazine. The publication is dedicated to educating, informing and inspiring all traditional fine art enthusiasts, collectors and artists, and is available on newsstands, including Barnes & Noble stores nationwide. The title of the magazine, Plein Air, is a French term, which originated during the Impressionist movement when painters were known to paint out of doors. For hundreds of years great artists were academically trained and painting from life, and en plein air was considered one of the most important skills an artist could master. Plein Air Magazine covers the world of outdoor and studio artists, living and deceased.
