CORE Construction Services of Arizona and ADM Group Will Build an Art Center for Chicanos Por La Causa
October 2004 (Newstream) -- CORE Construction Services of Arizona, Inc. and ADM Group will work with Chicanos Por La Causa, Inc., a non-profit community development corporation, to turn a breezeway of an outdoor retail mall into an art center to display the works of local artists. This project is part of a community "give back" program that CORE Construction and ADM Group lead to help local organizations and communities with their growing needs.
An inaugural event included attendees such as US Congressman Ed Pastor, Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon, Assistant to the Governor Ana Chavez, City of Phoenix Councilman Michael Johnson, President/CEO of Chicanos Por La Causa, Pete Garcia and Jon Dudas, Under Secretary EDA from Washington DC.
The Chicanos Por La Causa organization will use the 1,500 square feet breezeway as a place to display art and as a recreational area to host receptions and community meetings. The retail/commercial center project is located at 1122 E. Buckeye Road in Phoenix. This project is the first phase of a five-phase development in the Nuestro Barrio ("our neighborhood") area of the City of Phoenix.
Chicanos Por La Causa seeks to deploy approximately $20 million in economic development investments on Buckeye Road between 8th and 12th Streets to enhance the value of adjacent public investments and attract private investment that is noise compatible and which provides a smooth transition of land uses between Sky Harbor International Airport and Downtown Phoenix.
CORE Construction Services of Arizona, Inc. is an award-winning Construction Management and General Contracting firm founded in 1982, with offices in Arizona, Nevada, Texas, Illinois and Florida.
